Inspired by the stoveless approach to thru hiking, where hikers shed an extra pound or two of pack weight by ditching the camp stove and “cold-soaking” their meals. The issue with cold soaking meals that were intended to have hot water added, is that they must soak for a very long time to become palatable, and still the textures and flavors can be off-putting.
